E-T-A 3120-N Series — Circuit Breaker / Switch Only:

E-T-A’s 3120 is a single pole or double pole thermal or thermal-magnetic circuit breaker which also serves as an ON/OFF switch for apparatus and machinery. After having tripped due to overcurrent, the 3120 can easily, reliably and quickly be reset. Time-consuming replacement of fuses is eliminated. Manufacturers of electrical devices and machines, who attach great importance to a reliable and cost-effective design, are able to significantly reduce mounting and wiring time when using the 3120 circuit breaker/switch combination. The globally unique accordion-style seal excludes machine failures and product rejects on grounds of dust or water ingress.

The 3120-N circuit breaker/switch combination with rocker actuation is available in three basic versions: A standard version, a version with actuator guard and a version with an innovative IP65 rated accordion- style seal. All three versions have powerful clamping arms for a no-slip fit in the panel and a tampo printed marking. The versions with actuator guard and accordion-style seal can also easily and reliably be operated with gloves. The 3120-N-Q1- switch serves for switching devices and machinery on or off. It is available in a range of design versions and meets the requirements of the relevant standard IEC/EN 61058 for switches for appliances. Type 3120-N is also available as a circuit breaker for equipment protection in accordance with IEC/EN 60934 (see data sheet 3120-N thermal circuit breaker).

The new seal of E-T-A’s 3120 makes the rocker easily accessible. Switching the device is simple, even when the user is wearing gloves. And what is more: Due to the freely accessible rocker actuator, the switching condition (ON or OFF) is immediately visible. Discoloured or dirty splash covers often block the visibility of the rocker and its position. The new seal is made of environmentfriendly silicone. It does not contain any noxious plasticisers. In addition, the new seal is significantly more flexible at low temperatures compared to a PVC splash cover. Switching operations at low temperatures go as smoothly as at normal ambient temperatures. The new seal provides protection degree IP65 according to DIN EN 60529 (VDE 0470, part 1).
